Sherilyn Choo

Sherilyn Choo is a graduate from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) with Diploma in Dance. She developed an interest in dance at the age of 4 and trained in Ballet under The Royal Academy of Dance. She has also been exposed to different genres of dance such as Contemporary, Hip Hop and Jazz.

Before NAFA, she has participated in a few dance events and performances under the People’s Association. She has also performed with Malay Dance Troupe (Atrika Dance Company) where she was introduced to Malay Dance and was a lead role in a production.

During her studies, she performed at various school productions like Dancers@Work with student choreographed pieces. She also had the opportunity to work with numerous choreographers such as Dr Filomar Cortezano Tariao and Dr David Zeitner, as well as external choreographers such as Lionel Araya for Crossings 2020 (cancelled due to Covid-19), Christina Chan (Singapore) and Son Yu Joung (Korea) for The Third Space 2020, as well as Jenny Neo (Singapore), Yenny Widjaja (Indonesia) and Gillian Tan (Singapore) for Crossings 2021.

After graduating from NAFA, she did an internship with local dance company, Maya Dance Theatre, where she was an apprentice in production management as well as taking company classes with the company.
